Building Evaluations, Schematic Design

This multi-phased project involves the adaptive re-use of an entire block of historic buildings located at the Four Corners of downtown Bennington. Phase One of the project, is nearing the end of construction and involves renovations to the first of three buildings on the block separated by narrow alleyways. BMA is providing full architectural services for the project and has developed a mixed-use concept that will include restaurants, retail stores, office suites and upscale residential condominiums. The nearly completed first phase will provide retail space on the first floor, office space on the second floor and four condominiums on the third floor. The building, historically called the Drysdale Building, is now connected to the adjacent building by the new enclosed alleyway, providing a new stairway and elevator that serves both of the buildings.
